Addiction Recovery and Freedom in Christ ft. Tori Vissat

Our world has one idea of what “freedom” looks like: doing whatever the eff we want. But is that TRULY being free…or just being a slave to our whims and wants? Today’s (returning) podcast guest, Tori Vissat, works in international missions and is here to share her story of discovering what true freedom was after entering a 12-step program for alcohol addiction. Tori’s story is brave, bold, and beautiful as she describes realizing she had a problem, being challenged by peers, and taking the daring step to go to an AA meeting where she was pretty sure everyone there was going to be a hot mess. She walks us through what 12-step programs are and aren’t, the meaning of true freedom, and what to do if you feel like someone in your circle may have a problem with alcohol. Enjoy!
